Goggles

Sports GogglesGoggles are a very popular form of sports eyewear for a wide variety of sports, including motorcycle riding, ski and snowboard, swimming underwater with your kids, and even many of the sports mentioned in the previous pages on this website. Goggles are generally large lens-ed protective sports eyewear that is secured to the head with an elastic strap.

In many states, to ride a motorcycle on the street, the law says you must have eye protection. In fact in most of the motor sports, sports eyewear goggles are worn, including motor-cross, trail riding, and track racing. But even cruising down the street on your Harley V-twin, you need to wear protective goggles. Sports eyewear like goggles on a motorcycle protect your eyes from wind, dust, dirt, debris, bugs, and even rocks and trash being flung up from the car tires in front of you. Goggles should fit snugly to your face and be secured by an elastic strap that goes around the outside of the helmet. Sports eyewear like goggles or helmet face shields can save your life, or at least a little discomfort from wind and dust in your eye while riding your motorcycle.

Ski and snowboard sports also prefer the use of goggles as protective sports eyewear. Many ski and snowboard goggles are tinted and polarized to reduce glare from sun light reflecting off the freshly laid snow. Protective sports eyewear like goggles also keep the wind and snow out of your eyes while you’re shredding down the mountain on your new K2 snowboard or skis.

And of course, taking your kids to the swimming pool. What can be more fun and care free than swimming in the pool on a hot summer day. But not so fast, swimming pools have chlorine and other chemicals that can irritate the eye if your child likes to open their eyes underwater while swimming at the pool. Before your kid goes swimming, consider some protective sports eyewear. A nice pair of goggles can be a lot of fun for a kid at the swimming pool. They can safely open their eyes for some underwater exploring, they can pretend they’re scuba diving for buried treasure, or keep their eyes open while swimming laps to see where they’re going and when they’re about to reach the wall.

Goggles are a great piece of protective sports eyewear for these and many other sports too numerous to look at.
